Explore the ToolkitsOver the past five years, the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD), through the Integrating Mental Health and HIV/TB Services Integration (IMHSI) programme, has worked with government, implementing partners, healthcare workers, civil society organisations and communities to strengthen access to mental health care in South Africa.
As the IMHSI grant comes to an end, one of its most important legacies is the practical knowledge, tools and implementation experience developed during the programme.
The FPD Mental Health Toolkit Series brings these resources together so that provinces, districts, healthcare facilities, implementing partners, community organisations and others can adapt and use them in their own settings.
Practical resources developed through the IMHSI programme and designed to support implementation in real-world settings.

South Africa's mental health treatment gap remains substantial, and there is still much to do to translate good policy into accessible services at primary care and community level, while also supporting the wellbeing of the healthcare workforce.
We therefore want to continue building a network of individuals and organisations interested in strengthening mental health services, sharing implementation experience, collaborating on future initiatives and taking practical solutions to scale.
When you download one of the toolkits, we will ask you to provide a small amount of information about yourself and your organisation.
This will help us understand who is using the resources and allow us, where appropriate, to keep you informed about future mental health resources, learning opportunities, research, partnerships and initiatives.
Please download, use, adapt and share these resources.
More importantly, if you implement any of the tools or approaches, we would like to hear what worked, what did not, and what could be improved.
The value of these toolkits will ultimately not be measured by how many times they are downloaded, but by whether they help improve mental health services and the wellbeing of the people who provide them.
